DIY Market Data for Summer 2008 has revealed figures that were worse than expected with the size of the market contracting as it wiped out the gains it has made over the past 4 years. Sales fell an estimated 5% year on year in July 2008 and in the absense of a record breaking month of sales, the size of the market will have fallen below £2 billion when the sales boards come down in September.
