26 post offices are to be closed in Scotland and 32 are to be downgraded it has been announced. In a further blow to the ailing British instituation, branches across southern Scotland, Lothian and parts of Edinburgh are set to lick their last stamps over the coming months.
A spokesperson for the Post Office said that the closures would not greatly affect the majority of customers who would remain within 1 mile of their nearest branch.
