Word on the street is that house prices in Greater London have actually fallen for the first time in a year since August 2006. The London House Price Index for August compiled by RightMove has reported that the average asking price in Greater London has fallen by 0.1% from £394,730 to £394,268. Although these prices are still 23.4% higher than what they were this time last year, it may be a small drop but a definite step in the right direction.

Although Problem Solved will help you avoid cowboy builders, there’s probably no way of knowing if your builders will pull a stunt like this. These guys clearly didn’t think about their getaway, having put bollards up to protect the building.

Problem Solved has just rounded of its mini-series on finding reliable tradesmen with ITN, which have recently been shown on London Tonight. Our very own Alison Cork wrapped up the final film this morning with a summary of how to find and manage good, realible tradespeople. This went out live on this evening's broadcast. If you missed it or any of the others in the series, don’t fret as we shall be uploading all of the films to ProblemSolved.co.uk shortly.

Our poll on Homes and Bargains is throwing up some interesting results - with just over 400 people taking part to date and a surprising majority admitting to being stung.

We're on the hunt for case studies at the moment to use in our newspaper columns so if you have a story to tell, drop me an email at jonathan@bayswaterpublishing.co.uk

Ask.com is forging on with its “information revolution” in an attempt to make an assault on the big boys of search engines, Google.com. Sadly amidst all their battle plans they have overlooked something which all sane property owners would happily see the back of. Demonstrating why Google.com is the top search engine in the world and why Ask.com is not, click here to see what Ask.com has to say on cowboy builders.

And for those home owners not actively seeking out rogue tradesmen, check out ProblemSolved.co.uk, a website for reliable and vetted tradesmen in your area.
