A new rage is hitting the USA and is quickly making its way across to the UK. Women over 40 are on the hunt for younger men after their husbands leave them for younger women. At parties, women are telling of their desires to find (much younger) builders, plumbers and personal trainers.
Most women say they deliberately made a play for their new dates. “I just asked my builder if he fancied me,” one woman said happily. She went on to explain how much fun he was, and how much younger (26 to her 45), and to tell of the laugh they have together.
So, these 'cougars' are on the rise. You can see them everywhere – Demi Moore (married to a man 15 years her junior) and Madonna (dating Jesus, 28 years her junior) are prime cougars. Some people view this as being the ultimate example of modern feminism – why shouldn’t women date much younger men? Men date younger women all the time – so, whether you are for or against it, things are perhaps looking up for plumbers, builders and painters everywhere.
