Hints & Tips
The thoughtful people at Wickes have come up with a step by step (!) guide on how to use ladders.
It all sounds a bit nanny state, but when you consider that ladder related injuries account for more than 222,000 hospital visits a year, you realise that this information could come in handy.
The basic top tips for using ladders are:
1. Only use a ladder or step ladder in one position for a maximum of 30 minutes
2. Only use a ladder or step ladder for 'light' work - they are not suitable for strenuous or heavy work
3. Only use a ladder or step ladder where you can maintain three points of contact (hands and feet) at the working position
